Question Installation of 94016 high flow cats

I am currently waiting on the Magnaflow high flow cats to arrive at my doorstep. I have been calling around to get installation costs and found a shop that would do it for $90.

They said to make sure to buy a cat that has the o2 sensor in the middle of the cat b/c that is where it is on the stock cat. Otherwise there may be problems with the engine light turning on.

Has anyone had trouble with the engine light turning on once the high flow cats were installed?

Nope no problems. They'll need to weld O2 bungs in downstream of the cats and you'll be good to go.

Thanks 08fx4. Does anyone have a pic of this setup, that shows clearly where the o2 is mounted so i can show the shop exactly how it is suppose to be?

^ Directly after the cat, it can't any more clear than that.

Just have them mounted within about 6" after the cats and you'll be good to go. My factory O2 sensor harnesses were short so the guy actually mounted mine in the outlet flange of the converter. I've logged quite a few miles since I had mine installed and I haven't had any problems yet.

If yall throw any codes with the high flows, just do the Gotts O2 mod and your light will go away. Just FYI.

I have seen where some guys have to use o2 extensions so that it will reach to the downstream side of the cat. My truck is an 08, so it only has 2 cats; will I run into this problem?

You can buy them if you want but they aren't needed. My truck is an '08 as well.

No, and I am betting that to get the $90 quoted you won't be keeping yours either. If they quoted you $90 and you get to keep the cats then that's a fantastic deal.

Rear O2s get mounted right after the new cats. Guaranteed no CEL.
