bullet sound?

idk if im doin something wrong or not but is the dynomax bullet supposed to make your truck sound like a car?
i switched out my flowmaster 40 for a 12" dmax bullet 2 1/2" and it's basically the same sound but a much higher tone, it sounds like my friends mustang, if i were to add some piping coming out the side before the rear tire would it change the tone any? turndown?

How does it exit right now? Exit it before the rear tire. No turndown.

Well idk if this would help any but when I first got my bullet it was welded on where the stock muffler goes and no turn down. It was way to deep and made my interior rattle because of it. I then got a pipe that made it go back behind the axle and dumped it there. I love it now, same deepness just quieter in the cab. If it is too quiet for you i'd look into highflows. You can get them off ebay right now for around 120 and my install was 90 bucks. That is what I have Magnaflow 94106. They will deepen it up and add volume. Hope this helps.

You can grab the 94106's for $98 shipped on performancepeddler. I'm having to pay 120 for install though. They go on tomorrow.

Not to change the thread up at all, but I just got my bullet in today and I'm going to get it welded on tomorrow. I was planning on keeping everything the same, just switching out the muffler. Should I have the exhaust exit right before the rear tire or keep it the same as it is -- after? Is there anything else i should know? anything I should ask the shop to do?

Exit it front of the rear tire for the loudest sound possible, but that comes with drone.

Just a different sound. Most like it, but some don't. Run tips out the back and it will change the sound dramatically.
