Cool Air Intake and other stuff
Hi guys, I was just wondering where a good place to get a cold air intake for a 1997 Ford F-150, and also what kind of performance gains will I get from one? Also, just in general, where is a good place to get aftermarket parts for the same truck? Thanks for your help!!

Do a search for "Gotts Mod" on here, and if you still want to add one anyway, S&B makes a solid product with good looks under the hood. As far as gains go, an intake won't impress on its own. You will need to look at exhaust, intake mod and tuner combination to get started.
Best bang for your buck as most everyone will tell you is a tuner...have a look at those options first.
Performance Peddler's a good place to start for exhaust...suspension etc...

For the tuner you might want to check out the following.

Also think about underdrive crank pulley.

The other two are simply a waste of money - no gains worth spitting at. Yer truck already has a CAI stock. Gotts it and move on. The Fartmasters are a buttplug joke of a muffler.

But I'll try my best to explain.
Flowmaster is a chambered muffler.
Magnaflow is a flow through muffler.
Personally if I were to do my exhaust again I'd start by reading these threads in the exhaust section.
JMHO.

That part is completely subjective. I personally think that a Slowmaster on any vehicle flat out ruins it. Bullet's/Magnapack's/Borla's are proper 1st class mufflers in terms of both sound and performance, unlike 2nd (3rd?) rate mufflers that are chambered.
