Alright guys, choose my muffler for me...

Since I tend to drop a boat in salt water, a lot, my old exhaust and muffler have gone to rust... So, it's gotta go anyway, and I'll take the oppurtunity to upgrade a bit...

Here's what I'm looking for:
#1. Medium to loud
#2. Low, thrumming note at idle and low rpm's
#3. None of that dreadful popping when the motor winds down

Not planning on removing cats yet, depends on the mood I'm in when I go to do it...

Also, I already have 3 inch pipe going to the muffler, 3 SISO Flowtech, and 3 inch pipe all the way back... I hear that's not good for torque, but how much would I really be losing going to 3 inch over 2.5?

I would say a Magnapack, but the biggest they go is 2.5".

the magnapack doesn't pop when slowing down or downshifting?
from the videos i have seen they pop some (most are just revving).
never heard it in real life (yet) so im curious.

I agree with the magnapacks popping, at least from what I've heard... Do the Bullets pop?

I would suggest a Magnaflow muffler.

My favorite is the Flowmaster 40 Series, single in and dual out dumped.

I just installed the Magnaflow SS cat-back and love the sound!!! Nice deep rumble at idle but not obnoxious, no cabin drone at all, got a real nice growl to when ya step on the loud pedal. LOL

Since you will be exposing your new exhaust to salt water, make sure you get a stainless setup no matter what brand you decide on.

Bullets aren't stainless and pop just as much as the Magnapacks do, which is only on cold starts. Flowmasters aren't stainless either, plus they sound like ****.

4.6 punishers statement sounds like an opinion to me,lol as I have been told by over 20 STRANGERS how good it sounds. Everything chambered sounds about the same just slight differences in volume and straight thrust sound about the same. If you want minimal popping go with a chambered muffler such as a flowmaster. Also roush exhaust and borla exhaust sound awesome too!

They are all going to pop and crackle some. That is just part of having a louder exhaust. If you have an auto, then you won't hear much of it at all anyway, so you might as well pick a muffler based on the sound when your going to be hearing it the most. Driving.
