Exhaust flange studs

Exhaust flange studs

Hey Guys, Anyone know an easy way to change the studs for the flange gasket?

Well, -easy ? Depends what you consider easy lol. The fastest way AND easiest, - order doorman replacement manifolds (since their so cheap) and just swap them out.

Don't even think about drilling them out unless your using carbide burrs. Now you can drill NEXT TO existing flange studs using a cobalt bit and just run a new nut and bolt. I've done this once and it held until I replaced the entire system with headers.

I hope you not talking about the head studs.

If your referring to the head studs, (you need to differentiate), then disregard my post. My post was directed to the Flange Studs @ the exhaust manifold (exhaust connect).

use a torch and heat em up till they glow, just dont hit the trigger! LOL

x2 on the heat when I lived in PA we always had a torch on hand when doing auto repairs at the house.

Thanks for the responses but I've heard to many horror stories about changing the entire exhaust manifolds out so I'll work on just changing the flange studs out. why is it that engineers love to make things so hard for the average joe to work on their own things. I've been burnt by way to many mechanics..
