Before was 18" x 6 or 7" flopro glasspacks (2)

Heres what my "mufflers" are.

Heres the fine stainless mesh around the inner 2.5" pipe, thats surrounded by stainless steel wool.

Maybe adding this muffler would help, magnaflow 12649.

The dynomax bullet I think wouldn't be enough, 4" body with a 3" in/out.

4" Will be considerably closer to what mine sounds like now. I'm considering a 6x18 like you pointed except 2.5" in/out, will consider faster if I ever get cited for this one

Have any of you had issues with o2 extensions?

Trying to weigh all the expenses and different options. I wonder if shorty headers with high flows would work better for me. It's not as if my truck is going to be a race truck.

I havent had any issues, though if you can solder, you can lengthen your O2 wires and do it for dirt cheap.

I'd stray away from shorty's, they wont net you as much improvement.

^ I agree. Do it your self. It will be much cheaper, and a solder/heat shrink connection can't be done any better.

Well I just priced and pieced together a kit with OBX LT's with 3" collectors ($235) Magnaflow 94139 cats ($158) magnaflow 10778 3/2.5 Y ($27) and 3" torctite band clamps for the cats mounting to the collectors ($25) for a grand total of $445, not counting piping and extension work and such, plus the install. All I've read these headers are a pita to install on these trucks. May just be easier to get a complete bolt up kit. Thoughts?

That's the cheapest on the parts you could find?
3" will sound deep and loud!

The headers can be a pain but if your replacing the stock manifolds at all you might as well install the long tubes.

They take maybe 5 mins each side to install but worth it I think

Yeah that was cheapest. So they only take 5 minutes a side to install?

The 3" is for into my ROR muffler, with dual 2.5" going into the Y. The collectors on the headers are three inch, but I'd be reducing after the cat down to 2.5".

Sounds like a plan. Not too much of a guru on the exhausts but I love mine but looking to cat it and get a bigger muffler.

Well overall install can take 5-8 hours. But actually getting my headers in was a breeze

This will be a pretty good sounding system. Looking forward to your satisfaction and audio clips, Mod motors love making music and velocity with 3" intermediate piping. Performance, and deep deep clean growl.

LT's are enjoyably irritating to install, you must start each bolt before you tighten any of them down, just to avoid backing them out again so you can get the last ones in.

You and I both know the time consuming part is removing the old ones without breaking the OEM studs.
