5.0 true duals super 44s
I purchased a 2011 Lariat Screw 4x4 5.0 today and was planning to put true duals with Flowmaster Super 44s on it. I previously had a 2007 5.4 with true duals and Super 40s dumped behind the axle which I had no problems with other than it was a little quiet. The '07 truck also had a CAI and a tune. I plan to do the same with the new truck. I see flowmaster may not be the most popular muffler around. A friend owns the muffler shop and already placed the order. Will this setup work? Any suggestions on tubing size?

Doesn't matter what's popular here, it matters what you like. We just give you suggestions and tell you what we like. IMO flowmaster is just fine, although straight through mufflers sound good on the newer trucks like yours. 2.25-2.5" pipes should be good.

So ...lemme get this straight.
Yer gonna take a brand-new beautiful 5.0, with a really excellent, well-designed, well-matched, free-flowing, high-quality Stainless, mandrel-bent exhasut system ....
.... and then proceed to install a POS butt-plug of a chambered, torque-reducing velocity-agnostic, poorly-constructed silly-baffle-filled Fartmaster on it?
Outstanding.

Thanks to all with the constructive comments! I know there are various qualities and sounds involved when talking mufflers. I have Super 40 Flowmasters on my two Mustangs and my '07 and have no problems with them. I have Borlas on my '03 Cobra and have no problems with them. As I said my friend owns the muffler shop and I hang out there every day. I've seen a few things. I probably will go with the Flows and upgrade to mandrel!
