Why is my SIDO so quiet?

I just had a single in/dual out setup by my exhaust shop. They used a Magnaflow SIDO muffler and ran new 2.5" pipes from the cat back. The tips are coming out angled on either side. I can say that there is a slightly deeper growl, but it really is quiet. I am kind of surprised and somewhat disappointed. I didnt want something outrageous but i definitely wanted to have a more aggressive sound quality and i just didnt get it.

So i want to know if this is typical or can something else be done without ripping everything out? All inputs appreciated.

Maggies are known for their quietness but you do not lose power with them. Flowmasters are louder but you lose some low end. I wanted the sound, so went with the Flowmaster.

That sounds pretty good and pretty much what i was hoping for. Now i have not gotten down to ground level with an HD mic so not sure how much that affects it, but overall from driver's position it sounds nothing like what you have posted.

Compare muffler length, his may be shorter. The shorter they are, the louder they are.

^ X2! that would wake her up! I am guessing you got a 22" maggie or something close to that size. I had a 22 on my truck for a while and even with long tube headers and high flow cats it wasn't that loud.. for your setup I would go 14"

I use to run a magnaflow and I was happy with it at first but it was quieter than I thought it was going to be. They do provide great mufflers but unfortunately one of the quieter ones.

What is the part number for the 14" muffler that has SIDO? Also, with the high flow cats is there an issue with check engine coming on?

#12198.

Not if your installer knows how do do it right. Mount as close to manifolds as possible, relocate O2s after the cats.

You have to drive for a while too, Muffler will get louder after time due to the internal packing
