Dumped exhaust question?!

I have a si/so Dynomax Bullet dumped behind the cab on my 4.6l V8 STX. Everyone says that a tip on a dumped exhaust will make it sound better. Is this true? I'm trying to make my truck as loud as possible with all four stock cats, and my bullet. If a tip will cause my truck to have a relatively deeper/louder or both tone, this is what I want to do! If yes, what size/type tip should I use

Dumps kill all your sound and just cause it to drone. A tip will help project the sound better. If you can, route your exhaust to exit just in front of the rear tire and put a 4in tip on it.

UNC's got it. Side exit with a 4" tip will sound wicked. Listen to my first video in my sig. I was running that setup for a good while. It was beast! Its really the loudest you can with 4 cats on a siso setup.

^x2 I had that same set up it sounded real good but ended up doing to much highway driving and the drone was killing me so i dumped it after the axle with a 4" tip still loud but not the same. I wanna go back to this set up now that I don't do as much highway driving... with hi flow cats it would sound real good.

Drone is the worst with the side exit...thats the only flaw. It looks and sounds sexy though. Its the best sound you can get out of the muffler.

Run tips out the side or back and be done with it.

so which is worst? The drone from a dump or the drone from a side exit. I do lots of highway driving and am trying to decide which route to go(dump or side exit). I want the least amount of drone possible.

Thanks!

put it out the back for the least amount of drone. Side exit and dumped are both bad.

Dumped after the rear axle is what I have and I dont have even close to the amount of drone that I used to have with it exiting before the rear wheel. It wont be as loud but the trade off is usually worth it...

i went the cheap route and dumped a 40 series flow at the axle...it only drones at 60...and who the hell drives 60?

It killed the sound a little, but it still sounds great..i don't regret it at all.
