Getting ready to have a shop install my true dual exhaust. I already have my mufflers, x-pipe, cats & tips. I have been quoted $400-450 for installation with 409SS 2.5" pipe. I think I'm going to buy the tubing myself and take it all to the shop.

How much tubing do I need to order and what is good cost for a 5 ft. section?

I found 14 ft. of 304 0.065" wall on ebay (see link below) for about $100 shipped, but its in small sections anywhere from 12" to 21". Is this enough and will welding the small sections together be PIA for the muffler shop?

I needed about 22 ft. You will need about 24' due to the cat work at the same time. Either order 3~10 ft sticks of 409SS or get your exhaust shop to order it. I prefer the second option. It lets them make some money and keeps them happy while they are welding up your very expensive exhaust.

You are best off letting the shop just provide the piping if they are willing to order it, and get a warranty on it.
