losing mileage and perf?

So i had my muffler shop straight pipe my truck for 10$. I love the way it sounds but every one tells me im losing gas mileage and performance. Is this true cause i could not really feal a diff and I have no idea about the gas mileage. Would i be better off replacing the pipe wiith like a magnaflow or flowmaster as long as it still has a good sound? and i wanna keep it a si/so.

I'm straight piped, and haven't noticed a difference.
I noticed I was getting worse gas mileage right after I did it. That was because my right foot was always in the pedal. I love the sound! lol.

X2

Performance actually improves with straights (as long as the pipes match and are installed smoothly).

if you like it, I would let it roar. if you are not checking your mileage, than how do you know it is worse? Might be the same. I say leave it and enjoy the sound of a v-8
