Advice on Exhaust

I recently bought my 2000 f150 so still learning all the ins and outs of the f series trucks.

Im wanting to upgrade my exhaust system without spending a fortune and was wondering if any of yall had any experience with the "10414 Magnaflow Stainless Steel Muffler" on a 2000 f150 xlt.
I had one on my v6 ranger with a stock exhaust system and it had an amazing rumble and sound for a v6.
Im wanting that same deep rumble(of course louder), would it sound ok to just take off the stock muffler and slap this on? Im not looking for the absolute best, just deeper and louder than what i have right now...

Thanks

Also, on removing 2 of the 4 cats, which ones do you leave on and how do you think it would sound with the above muffler?

Replacing just the muffler would be fine. If you remove 2 cats, remove the back 2. It will sound really good with that setup.

Replacing the muffler will give you a good sound for a good price. The one you put the part number for is a 2" in and 2" out, and I think the stock systems on your body style is either 2.25" or 2.5", so you would need one with different inlet and exit sizes than the 10414 muffler.

Nice! Thats the larger cats right? Would just hollowing out those 2 cats sound the same as removing it? or close to it...

It would be easier to just take the back two cats off, and I think your body style truck has sensors after the back two cats so you might have to get a custom tune to turn of a CEL or the spark plug non fowler things so you don't get a code.

Dont even mess with the cats. Put on a dynomax bullet in place of your OEM muffler and call it quits. You can even add a nice 3.5" tip in the stock location to help project the sound.
