CEL after gotts mod

so today I took out my silencer and then drove up to lowes to get my parts for the gotts mod. came back home, unhooked neg battery cable, turned on headlights(didnt come on at all), installed the mod(took about a hour mostsly due to sanding with a small peice of sandpaper on a drill bit lol), then reconnected the battery cable and started my truck. Im assuming my computer was reset because my trip milage got reset and my presets in my radio reset. after driving 13 miles I got a CEL. Does the computer relearn automaticly? will the CEL go away after 50 miles?

Get the code read. You may have bumped or left something un-hooked. Check your work/connections in the area.

Yes the computer is re-learning, but that won't throw a CEL.

I checked it all twice but illl check again. If I do find something and fix it will the cel go away as soon as I fix it or do I have to unhook the battery again?

Check that, sometimes the connectors get pushed back in the plugs. Then look for a vac leak. Check all the hoses very close and don't spray with carb cleaner, it can eat the hoses.

Type that in the search box and you will get lots of info. Just make it 2 different searches, TB and IAC.

I would re-check the plug for the IAC first. And yes you can unplug it without disconnecting the battery.

To check for leaks first listen to the motor run with the hood up. Inspect ALL the vac lines, if they crumble when you touch them then replace. If you find a suspicous one or hear a hissing noise follow it to the source. You can use a piece of vac line or hose about 2-2 1/2 feet long with one end in your ear while you check for hissing with the other end.

Also after doing the mod make sure that you tightened all the hose clamps on the intake tube and they are properly in place without any folds in them.

alright, so my throttle body was super clean and I dont have an IAC. so now I guess I can only search for leaks? oh, when I didthe gotts mod I found a lot of leaves in the fender and removed them. when I took my filter out afterwards I found leaves in it that werent there before I did the Gotts mod(I guess there were more in the fender). could this have caused my CEL P0508?
