03 5.4 true dual?

Looking into getting exhaust on my truck with 45d tips. How does the 04-08 compare soundwise with no muffler and stock cats. also which size pipe do most of you run if you have sound clips of this setup that'd be great.

How will true dual straights sound? Like trash, no matter what it's on. At least toss some Bullets into the mix.

I disagree.

If you have all four factory cats on your 03 it will sound alright. Mine was a little loud and had a little more cackle than I like. I added the X Pipe and I like it a whole lot more. If you don't have all 4 factory cats then I would add a muffler of some kind.

I ran the stock 2 1/2" pipe but when I do it again down the road I would go down to 2 1/4" pipe. Sorry I don't have any sound clips but there are a ton on youtube.

I run 2.5" true dual with an x pipe walker part number 54320 off a chrysler 300c. I have flowmaster 40 series and the thing was fairly loud but mint sounding, and now I have 4 deletes and the thing is rank sounding. Its awesome but ridiculous. I would recommend running a set of like 2.5" magnaflows or running true dual 2.25".However everyone these forums always likes to argue about back pressure but i assure you that if you run dual exhaust and 2.5" with mufflers and 4 cats you are good. If you ditch the cats you are still good all your doing is moving the powerband up slightly.

Remove the rear cats and throw a pair of bullets on there. Now it will sound good. MUCH better than what you are thinking about doing.

There is very little difference in tone depth, level of sound, etc except you will have a little more rumble- as compared to 99% of the perf mufflers.
