Exhaust is starting to sound raspy at W.O.T

I have a 2011 F150 supercrew with a 5.0. I am running a magnaflow single in/ dual out muffler. I am running 3 in pipe into the muffler and dual 2 1/2 in out of the muffler 90ed behind the rear tires. The trucks sounds good at idle and part throttle, but under w.o.t the exhaust is starting to sound raspy. How do i solve this? Will a resonator fix this? i know the truck had a resonator originally. any info is appreciated

Should have went with Borla!

Really though, a Borla muffler like the Pro XS would maintain that deep Borla tone all the way up the RPM range, and NOT get raspy like the Magnaflow mufflers.

My old Magnaflows sounded that way too, they will just produce that tone.

Yes, the addition of as 10" long resonator after the muffler or the install of insultated ehaust tips will significantly reduce the "rasp"....it won't eliminate it completely but reduce it significantly.

Nice. Borla XS sounds just awesome.

If I didn't love my Corsa, that's what I'd run.

I've said it before and I stand by it now, I really do like my 40 Flow, but next exhaust will be either Borla or Corsa. My truck has a pretty deep, resonant tone but I've heard that Borla only deepens the growl on the '04-'08s....

Good luck OP with the new exhaust and post some vids so we can compare old vs. new.

It's amazing how loud these maggies get though... once over 2100rpm mine scream with Hi flows... it has a little rasp but I like that. I will be turning to Borla later this year thought myself as I want it a bit louder and even deeper
