Are the muffler and tail pipe sections the same between the 5.0 and 5.4? I just traded in my 2010 FX4 5.4 for a 2011 FX4 5.0 and would really like to swap my duals on to the 5.0. and put the factory exhaust back on the 5.4.

 

If the tubing diameter is the same it should work. Make sure the exhaust hangers are in the same spot.

 

Other than he fact that the 5.0L has a resonator in most stock tailpipes, I di not believe there are any significant changes in the single tailpipe mounting and hanging. Just got to give it a try.

I beleive the 5.4 had 2.5" pipes and our 5.0 has 3". I could be wrong? I know the 2004-2008 5.4 had the 2.5

 

No, the '04 - '08s had 2.75" with 2.5" exhaust. '09+ had 2.75" exhaust throughout. However, the OP was asking about a cat-back tailpipe, which is always 3" for SISO.

 

It is a 3" pipe aft of the 5.0L muffler.
