I changed my 2000 Eddie Bauer to a conventional suspension setup - removed the air ride.

What is it about cat backs that list "without air ride". Should it now work if I were to buy one?

I would prefer to avoid a shop at all costs.

Just order the muffler and tip and it will be much cheaper that way as well. What muffler are you looking into?

I myself would look into a JBA system, it's stainless and I've had one on my F-150 for about 7 yrs now. The difference in systems non air ride vs air I'd assume would be the air bags therefore routing might be too close to the bags. You'll be good now, this system costs around $400 I think give or take.

Why do you want to avoid a shop? Not worth a crap in your area?

I am all for a "custom" exhaust, but if your not comfortable with there work, then stick with a cat-back or try somewhere new. New shops can be risky though!

Put it this way, I know labor is pricey everywhere but it's getting a bit too much for simple work.

I have a muffler shop that gets all my exhaust business when I need it. To just cut out the muffler and weld in a straight pipe they said it would be about 100 bucks. That's no muffler or anything like that. 100 bucks. You can't into a shop around here at all without spending at least that for anything. Almost like just getting into a cab and there's already a charge on the meter. Drives me nuts.

I'm looking at either the Dynomax ultra flo 3 inch cat back or getting a Dynomax bullet welded into place of the existing muffler.

So if I have the air ride removed, should a cat back that lists "without air ride" work for me?
