98 5.4L with Cat Issue (missing). Help please!

I bought an 98 F150 (not CA emissions) with a low mileage 2001 5.4 motor but the previous owner removed both cats because they were bad. He didnt mind driving around with the CEL on. I can't stand it. Unfortunately, I dont know if in reality there are only suppose to be 2 cats on this truck, nor do I know where they go.

I'd like to fix this problem with little money so can someone please steer me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Truck has 4 cats. If ur running with no cats then he removed all four. You can buy a couple (2) of high flow magnaflow converters p/n 94136 2.5" in/out. Welding them in about 6" behind the first set of O2 sensors should take care of the code. Or do this but its alot more expensive...And just for good measure post the CEL codes.
