2.5" or 3" Bullet?

2.5" or 3" Bullet?
Thinking of trying a Bullet out. Current system is a 3" midpipe to 2.5" tails 45'd behind the rear tires.
I was wonderiong if it is better to go for the 3" bullet or the 2.5" version? I switched my midpipe over to 3" but can easily go back to the smaller diameter if need be.
I heard that a 3" bullet causes quite a hit to performance, whereas a 2.5" does not. Any truth to this?
Also, what type of sound difference can I expect if I kept the midpipe at 3" and went for the 3" Bullet vs going with the smaller midpipe and smaller 2.5" Bullet?
Thanks for the help!

3" midpipe will not hurt your performance. The only notice you will see is maybe not as easy of towing when hooked up to 8,000lbs, and you will see better highway mpg.
Dynomax is putting out a "mini-bullet"?
"Had" & "Sounded" sound so, past tense.. What did you do?

Interested in this as I have a three inch bullet and am thinking about a full size spare which I would more than likely need to reroute my exhaust and was thinking about possible y pipe to duals before rear tires. I like the sound now, but if I have to reroute it, may as well try something different.

I posted my truck for sale classifieds and posted in 97-03 section. But yeah....my truck is now in the hands of a 16 year old for his first vehicle
Its all good. I got $500 more than I paid for it after putting 40,000 miles on it and $5k+ worth of mods. Ill be back in something better soon.

I decided on the 3" magnapack (14419) like yours and just get 3" midpipe with the Y at the end to the tails. Should be pretty sick. I just hope my 3x18 tips won't screw up the sound I'm looking for. I want 08FX4's sound. I'll have to wait 2 weeks to order some hi flow cats and then take it to the shop. Ordered the Y pipe and muffler today.
I'm sure you will like it. The Magnapack has a nice sound to it. People will definitely know you are coming down the road. lol
