Is mandrel bent worth it???

So I'm having a hard time finding a shop that mandrel bends their pipe near College Station. I'm planning on putting 3" from the cat back through a Bullet.

Anyone know of a shop that mandrel bends near College Station/Houston area?

Also, is it worth it? I know I want performance as well as sound. Just wanting to hear opinions.

Thanks fellas.

After the y-pipe it wont make much of a difference. If your doing a header back system than definitely mandrel. Bumping up to a 3" diameter pipe will make more of a difference than a crush bend vs. a mandrel bend. Why 3"? Personally I would just leave it 2.5" all the way through. Either way with a cat back you wont notice much of anything performance wise just sound.

Im running a 3" single into two 2.5" tail pipes. Truck runs the same if not better. she still moves by herself when i pull out of park plus the sound a 3" is amazing. Performance only goes so far like parnaz mentioned. Sorry I opted for smooth bend not mandrel, and I hate crush bends

I paid $45 for a 3" mandrel stainless steel magnaflow universal taipipe. Then another $100 to have a good exhaust guy hang it/cut to fit (weld 2 hangers) and open up my previously clamped muffler. Not cheap, but he did know his stuff. It was too hard laying under the truck on the driveway trying to figure out how much of the tailpipe to trim off.

Amazon Amazon

In my opinion, for what you are doing. I say it's a waste of money. Now if your building a huge horsepower engine and your wanting absolutely maximum numbers on the dyno, then yes. But your not...
