Well, my Diamond Eye exhaust kit arrived. Hopefully, I'll get it bolted up this weekend.

FWIW: Exhaust 'size' is more based on power-range/volume of the motor than the cylinders.

800 horse power stock cars run 4" exhausts. So naturally I just don't believe an EcoBoost V6 in a 6,000lb body would need more than a full 3".

True, but an Ecoboost running in the mid 400's could adequately go higher than 3" without any detrimental effect.

Highway drone above 2000rpm with the FloPro will be intolerable towing the trailer in the summer...I'm going to have to put a resonator in or just go back to stock.
All in all tho the stock system is where I should have probably left it.....for the cost to get a bit of performance and a different sound it's not worth it.

Bosro, where is your pipe/pipes exiting? Stock location should minimize drone when towing. Straight out the back will sound awful with a trailer and underbody dumps will drone.

Absolutely right in regards to thinking sound equals power. Check out German or Italian sports cars: M3's, 911's etc...neither 'loud' by our usual "V8 sound" but fast/amazing none the less.

There are a lot of enthusiasts that feel that it doesn't have to be a V-8 to sound "good".

V8s sounds good on trucks ... smaller engines when done right on cars sound awesome.
