Looks like It's gonna be sick man, Its pretty much the same setup i wanna do. Hopefully it turns out to be just what you wanted. And yea, I've never heard anything about the xr-1s being "quiet". If anything I've heard there reputation to be loud. Would love to hear it when its all done.

In terms of "loudness".....

From Quietest to loudest (In my experience):

12" Borla XR-1
14" Magnapack 14419
15" Round Borla XR-1 40085

Having said that, the Borla's both produce a smoother sound while the Magnapack is a little more choppy. In terms of volume, the 14" Mag and the 15" Round Borla may be "similar", but the Borla gets the nod with regards to full-bassy depth and consistency of sound. The 12" Oval sounds good as well, but the sound is a little flatter, IMO and not as rich and bassy (or as clear cut).

The 14" Magnapack sure isn't quiet, it just doesn't maintain that full sound like the 15" Round Borla does. Imagine a 14" Magnapack after it is warmed up and it has that rich deep sound, now make that volume a little louder and maintain it through the rpm spectrum and you have the 15" Round Borla #40085. I originally thought the Magnapack was a little louder, but once you add in the consistency of the sound and deep bassy tone, I think the Round Borla get the one-up.

If you want just sheer volume, get a 12" bullet.

Just knowing you still are running it is speaking very well for that muffler! Still wish you had ran a Super 10 to hear your review and impressions on that muffler as compared to the more commonly used popular choices.

Haha!

I'm actually thinking of switching it out soon just to see what else is out there.

The 40085 has most definitley been my favorite so far though. Sounds awesome all the time.

I am wanting to have my tailpipes repaired due to how un-level they are from the original install. I was planning at the same time to probably replace the Magnapack with the 40085 just as an excuse to get to experience the Borla sound. Hoping for more volume in the process. I don't quite want to have to touch my 2007 cats just yet. Would hope I could get into an '11+ 5.0L before that.

My Borla XR-1 made itself to my doorstep the other day. It will go on the truck the 1st weekend of January 2013. Let's see how this goes.

I'll be trying the 16" oval version. Bullet shaped mufflers are getting too loud

Watch those tips, the black powder coat comes off pretty bad after a few thousand miles.
