Hey guys.....I am seriously considering installing a pair of JBA headers on my 1997 4.6L. Do headers have any "bad" side effects, like engine life or anything?

 

Engine life is not reduced. You "can" have sealing problems at the header to exhaust pipe flange, shorter header gasket life, increased noise, increased clearance problems, and higher underhood temps if you don't buy ceramic coated ones. You also have to re-torque the bolts occasionally if you don't get the locking Stage 8 type.
