What are some of the things I can do to my 4.6L so I can SMOKE the rear tires?? I have a FIPK, Poweraid, and power pulleys, but it doesn't seem like they gave me any low end..thanx

We need more info about your truck! I have the 4.6 too. With the 5-speed and 3.55 gears I've always been able to chirp the tires. With the re-worked exhaust (NO-Y) I can be doing 10 mph in first, punch it and break them loose even with the 265s.

My truck is a 1997 F150 flareside w/ auto tranny. I don't know what size gears I have. I can chirp the tires. It just seems that my truck would feel a lot more powerful if I had some REAL low end power. I am not very farmiliar w/ exhaust, so please tell me more about yours SCAdien. I am planning on getting a superchip, but I want to get an exhaust system and maybe a pair of headers while I have the money available.

My new exhaust is described better in the thread "NO-Y Exhaust Yields 2 Surprises".

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=49911

Basically I used a backwards straight-through SI/DO muffler as a Y collector. I designed it for maximum laminar flow. It would probably work even better with headers.

You might want to check on your gearing. As I understand it the gear ratio acts as a torque multiplier. A 3.55 is 15% better than a 3.08 and a 4.10 is 33% better than the 3.08. This will help you on your launch but might kill your top end and gas mileage.

Other people on the boards here say the TB spacers don't help any.

Of course a blower is the next best thing to more cubes!

Thumbs up

A Superchip will tie all your present mods together, and improve the power quite a bit. The shift points alone would be worth getting one. An exhaust system would be the icing on the cake. I did a true dual system with 2 &1/4" pipes and 24" glasspacks, and I LOVE it! Nice low rumble at idle, and raps out like a race truck at WOT. I may change to Magnaflow mufflers later, just because I'm a little biased(the sound is amazing!!) I already have traction problems, but I also have an open differential.,,,,,98

Thanks to all of y'all that responded to my post. I ordered a superchip tonight, so maybe some night next week I'll go spank a supercharged civic. thanx.
