2001 ORP,

I purchased the Ravin Z55 for my truck and was very impressed with all aspects of the muffler. I would definetly recommend it to you. The sound is great, price was good, and as far as performance is concerned, I did notice better response from the truck. Hope this helps yous some.

I put the 55's on my 2001 custom cab 5.4 v8
Sound is great, it took about two weeks for me to notice any
gas mileage difference, but it helped , I went from 325 miles per tank
to around 350/I also installed a hard cover after that and
am getting even better mileage

Question

Sparks,

How does your truck sound at highway speeds? I want a exhaust that will give a low mellow tone and not a high pitch sound at cruising speeds.

I installed my exhaust quite a while ago and can say that I'm completely satisfied. The soud is exactly what your looking all low tones through the RPM range. It is a little louder than stock most times ,on the highway it is practically unoticeable in the cab. I would recomend this muffler to uou 100% good luck and let me know how it turns out

z-55 also

I also took 5 months to decide on which muffler to buy. I went with the z-55 si/do. I wanted 3" in and out but supposedly ravin does not make 3" in and out, so I had the 2.5 in and out with both 24" x 4" stainless tips exiting out the rear at a 45 degree angle. Its not straight out the back like everyone else, but you can still definitely see and hear it once I pass your slow a$$ up. It has the perfect sound that I wanted, low rumble that just comes alive when floored, but I got to admit that at WOT my airforce one and the ravin just about have the same loudness to them. Meaning at WOT I hear the intake more than the muffler, but most other time its the muffler I hear. Also at highway speeds you won't notice it inside the cab, so that's good for the wife and kids. The only problem is sometimes I can't decide what to do, crank up the radio or roll down the windows and listen to a REAL TRUCK. Decisions, decisions.
