Question I need Advice!

I need help from all you Motor Heads out there. I'm looking into a "Cat-Back" exhaust system for 2001 Screw. Since my Mechanical skills rival my wife’s, I need help on a few questions. I am interested in increased HP and Fuel Economy as well as the "way-cool" sound they make (as long as it's not too loud). My questions are;

1. What is the difference between a single out pipe and a dual out pipe?

2. I like the rumble sound around town but not the constant drone on the highway (I tow a camping trailer and a boat at times).

I'm looking at a couple "Exhaust Systems" from Truckperformance.com. One is the Borla SI/DO stainless and the other is the Bassani SI/DO stainless system. Also, I’m considering a couple of the Gibson systems as well. So many choices and so little information! Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks Mike,

My brother has Borla on his 97 vet and they sound great, but they are pretty loud. I realize its a different engine, but I was concerned they would be a little too loud on my truck. Thanks for the input!

maniac-

With the multi-cat setup on late model F-150s you have to get a loud muffler to get much sound out. The Borla doesn't end up being being overly loud; it's quite moderate.
