I just purchased a 1998 Expedition and it has the factory alarm system. I have figured out the lock/unlock and the remote start features on the remote, but I can’t figure out how to enable the alarm. I found all the parts to the alarm (light on dash, horn/siren, shock sensor, emergency shutoff button and the brain), so I know it has the alarm feature. I’m guessing that the previous owner somehow disabled it but I have no idea how to enable it. Could someone PLEASE help me? Thanks in advance!

 

I think the reason they disabled the alarm is because the “door ajar” light erratically comes on, which would set the alarm off (the alarm would think the door is open). I did a search on these forums and found that the "door ajar" thing is a common problem. So I’m going to try the WD-40/carb cleaner trick on the latches tonight. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas for the alarm, I would really appreciate the help.
