Howdy....I have a 98 Expy 4.6L 4WD w/~82,000 miles. I have an oil leak that appears to be coming from the area that the remote filter mounting base bolts to the side of the block (not related to the filter itself up in the bumper area). My question is....has anybody else had a leak in this area? Are there any other obvious places in that area that the oil could be leaking from? I checked the area around the valve cover and the head gasket and both areas look dry. Oil pan gasket area looks ok.

It looks like that is a pretty straight-forward gasket swap, that would also involve removing one of the coolant tubes.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
