Question Fuel Pump size?

What size fuel pump does a 99 Navigator with a 4v 5.4 have from the factory?

Slightly bigger than a "D" cell battery.

??
What exactly are you asking, the physical size or the pressure output?

I want to know the output. I have a 255lph pump laying around for my mustang that would be great for the navi if it doesn't have pump of decent size to start with. If it has a 155lph pump from the factory I probably won't worry about the pump swap.

I guess I'd wonder, other than just having an excuse to tinker what would you be trying to accomplish by adding a higher volume pump? Unless there is some need, it's flowing more than adequate amount of fuel for stock.

A little volumetric comparison:

88 liters per hour = 23.2 gallons per hour
155 liters per hour = 40.9 gallons per hour
190 liters per hour = 50.2 gallons per hour
255 liters per hour = 67.4 gallons per hour

My truck gets around 13 MPG when I'm horsing around with it. If I were to drive it hard like pulling a heavy boat at like 70 MPH for one hour, I'd burn 70/13 gallons in one hour or 5.38 gallons per hour.

I cannot for the life of me see my vehicle consuming 23 gallons per hour in any condition, much less 67 gallons per hour. Now, if we're talking boats, we could be gettin close to the 23 gallons per hour if you have dual V8s pushing a 30 foot boat but I'm just guessing on that.

Just for giggles:

If I were driving my Expedition at 70 MPH for one hour and consuming 23.2 gallons per hour, I'd be getting (70/23.2) 3.02 MPG. If I were consuming the top end of 67.4 gallons per hour, I'd get (70/67.4) 1.04 MPG.

My $0.02 worth

I didn't say the stock pump was inadequate. I wanted to know so when I put the 150shot of nitrous on my navigator or the supercharger I would have enough fuel pump.

I wasn't looking for opinions, honestly. I think I could have figured out that stock was more than enough. There are a hundered possiblilities that I would have wanted to know the size. Maybe my fuel pump took a **** and I have the 255lph laying around so there is no since In paying for a stock pump.

Unless you modify the fuel pressure regulator, any pressure over 45psi will be bled back to the tank.
The stock pump is capable of 250psi.
So in other words, the bigger fuel pump will be redundant.
