Silverstar vs. Xenarc

Had Silverstars, upgraded to Xenarcs. There's no way to compare these two systems. The Xenarcs are, hands down, by far and away, the way to go.
Of course, they're quite a bit more pricey but, in this instance, you REALLY get what you pay for.
Take my word for it here... you won't be sorry with the Xarcs!

I bought a pair of SilverStar (9007) at the local Wally*World for $37.88 . Plugged 'em in, immediately liked them. Brighter than the average halogen capsule, and very fortunately, they weren't that trashy, too-blue kiddy color that the Civic Si drivers around these parts seem to prefer.
However, on a recent round-trip between Saint Louis and NYC, the SilverStars performed admirably, considering their cost, but they just weren't the kick in the pants that I wanted.
I ordered the Xenarc kit upon my return from the Big Apple. $445 from hid-brightheadlights.com . My SilverStars will find their new home in the Xenarc housings.
I bought a pair of SilverStar (9004) for the family minivan (2001 Chevy Venture WB). Advance Auto had a great deal running, just before Christmas: $19.99 for the first bulb, 1/2-off the 2nd bulb, plus a $3.00/bulb mail-in rebate.
In the Venture, the SilverStars made an *immediate* and very positive change in the light output. My wife, who constantly complains about problems with illumination loss on wet pavement, has nothing but good words about the SilverStars. I figure the color temperature is different enough from most other headlights, that she can now easily pick her lights out on the pavement in front of the van.
I'll let you all know about the Xenarcs after I install them. I don't anticipate that I'll be anything less than ecstatic.
Best regards,

ARGHHHH
My Xenarc 2010 kit arrived today (along with my IN.PRO.Car Wear corners and tails).
At 5PM I dashed home, tossed on the corners and tails, then opened the Xenarc box, and....
....discovered two passenger-side modules, and no wiring harness.
By chance...is anyone out there sitting on two left-hand modules, and two wiring harness? If so, I might have a proposition for you.
LOL I expect the vendor will take care of this in the morning. But for now, my Expy looks pretty silly with crystal-clear diamondback corners and the stock headlight lenses.

Whoopie! The Xenarcs are installed! And they throw an AMAZING amount of light!!
It was too cold outside to spend time tidying up the nice Sylvania harness, tucking things down out of sight and such. I'll clean things up in the spring.
Now, if I can just get these !(*&@$* lights aimed correctly...
See this thread if you have aiming techniques or stories to share.

Aiming was a challenge for me as well but, I finally got them how I wanted them...
And, lucky me, I'll get to reaim in the very near future as I'm getting a new set under warranty one of these days. I have a VERY slight amount of condensation in my driver's side assembly and Sylvania said they'd take care of it. At this moment, I haven't seen the lights but, I expect them any day....
They're awesome lights aren't they?
