Stock Ride Height

Hi guys,

I was on a used car lot last night and there were two 2003 Expy XLT's both equipped with the 5.4 and had the same tire size.

I am confused because one of the trucks was riding about an inch lower.

What could be the cause of this?

Maybe one had Load Levelling Suspension. Doesn't it lower the truck when the ignition is not on?

I dont think it matters anymore whether its 4wd or 2 wd , they sit the same, what a shame imo. The new expy is just a big wagon anymore, nice but not a good 4x4 like the previous ones. I say bring back the straight axle in the back, cause you cannot lift the new expys.

There is a difference in hieght from the 2wd to the 4wd.....also the load leveling suspension sits lower in the rear for some reason....

According to the Ford Factory 2003 and 2004 Expedition manual, there is no ride height difference between the 2WD AND 4wd.

I have never noticed a difference in height between the 4x4 and 4x2 2003-04 Expys. They even come with the same size tires. Maybe one of the Expys you saw had a different size tire than stock or was lowered or lifted. I've never noticed any difference between the new ones sitting on the lots.
