Question Rear Air Deflector installation

Hey guys.... this is my first post, but it seems like everyone has a lot of good knowledge. I purchased a 98 Expedition last week and have trying to get it all tricked out.

I ordered the Ford OEM rear air deflector from Ebay and it got to my house last night, but the instructions seem to be lacking any English. It looks like they wrote them for someone who can't read, since everything is pictures? Has anyone installed one on their Expy and have any advice for placement of the template?

Thanks in advance!

Ross

I put a OEM spoiler on my 2000. The only thing I can tell you is measure, measure , measure. Cut out the template. Center it the best you can, then measure side to side and top to bottom to get it perfect. Then tape it down. Drill the holes. Screw it together.

Take your time to measure, get it perfect. The rest is easy and you won't be disappointed.

Had my buddy install mine at his body shop. The original paint didn't match the deflector so I had him match paint it. I can say that it does work, but maybe a mile off the gas milage on long highway speeds.

I've got one of those too. However, it came with the truck when I bought it, so I can't help with the install.

I've often wondered if it actually helps. Is it supposed to keep the rear window cleaner, compared to not having one?
