Trouble shooting transfer case
I have a 1999 Expedition 5.4l XLT
It has started to hop and drag at slow speeds when making turns. You can shift to 4x4 and to 4low just fine. It seans to be in 4x4 locked but with out the dash light being on. If I shift to 4x4 the light comes on, and when I go back to A4auto the light goes off. I under stand that I have a clutch in the t-case called torque on demand.
My question is how can I trouble shoot this system. this clutch has one brown wire from the shift motor pulg going in to the t-case housing. Can any one tell me what should be on the wire as far as volage or pluses?
