Unhappy 2001 Expedition CD-changer magazine replacement

Any place I can get a replacement magazine?? Ford dealer said it is part number YL1Z-18C833-AA and costs $88.20 +tax. This is the OEM 6 disc changer in the 2001 EB Expedition I just bought. Any ideas appreciated.

Tried that. Haven't been able to find any sellers with the specific part number I need. Ford parts says 2001 Expedition is different than previous years and he is unsure about later years. I'll keep looking, 'cause I'm not about to pay $88 + dollars.

I was in the same boat as you when I got my 99 expy. The root part number (18C833-AA) is the same on all of them from 98-03, whats diffrent is the engineering numbers. Those numbers really should not matter, as they can have diffrent engineering numbers on the same part for the same year. Ford parts can not look up engineering numbers so they really do not know if on will work or not. My suggestion is to find one with the right root number and holds the correct number of cd's and get it (from ebay). If it does not work you can re-sell it, but more than likely it will work. I was lucky in that I found a store local to me that sold them for $20 and he had one to fit mine. You could also try to ask some of your local stero shops if they sell it or possible where to go to get it (locally).

any how good luck.

Thanks for the info. I just spoke to the used car dealer I bought it from and explained my dis-satisfaction with Ford pricing, and he said he would get me one if I gave him a couple of days. So now, the problem is solved. But I would still like to get a couple extras to load up with different flavors of music.

If the dealer doesn't come through, or you just want more, I believe the right part number is the one you have posted. I bought a couple way back, for my Expy and one was the wrong one. I didn't pay attention to the part number. The one I got that was wrong was F8VF-18C833-AC. I just resold it on eBay a couple months ago.

The 18C833 isn't the key, it's the first 4 characters. Here is the link to eBay which has a picture of this part number. Notice the white inserts. It fits many Ford/LM vehicles, but not the Expyfrom that time.

Thaye aren't going for what they were 2-3 years ago and thee aren't as many available. I got about $16 total for it.
