Question VCR System in 2001 Expedition

My wife and I recently purchased a used 2001 Eddie Bauer Edition Expedition that didn't come with an owner's manual. We can't seem to get the sound to work when we play a movie on our drop down LCD screen. Can anyone help? I've tried going through all of the radio stations, but there isn't one that picks up the sound. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your purchase. If it is a factory install then you will need to purchase IR headphones. I'm pretty sure that there was no wired option or FM modulator. I would look on Ebay for some. Good luck.

Apick, I have a 2000 Expy with the factory Visteon system. Not sure if yours is the same, but on my mine, the flip down monitor has 2 buttons, one for power and one for sound, make sure they are both lit green. Radio needs to be tuned to 88.7. If that doesn't work, try posting your question at http://www.expeditionforum.com/index.php . Good luck with the new truck.

Factory VCP

I have a 2002 EB with the Factory VCP and there is an FM Mod built in like the previous poster said. There is also a small switch under the monitor when you flip it down to choose between the 2 freq. like 88.7 and either 86.5 or 88.6 or something like that and also there is a small cap on the unit towards the front of the vehicle just in front of the hinge where the monitor swings down that has 3 rca connections and 2 headphone jacks. the small cap kinda looks like an IR receiver.

we just bought a 2002 exped as well and no headphones and no vcr workee. I do have a rca hookup under the rear seat so the psp goes there but I need stereo sound. Screwit... I'll probably go fm modulator for accessories anyway.
