Aftermarket receiver with Mach system?
#18
I read that 98 and up had the Mach setup, where as 97 had the JBL setup.
If you have a subwoofer in the rear passenger cargo area, next to the jack you have the Mach.
FWIW, I used the Metra dash kit 77-5802. I hate that damn little pocket but thats all I could find to work. It says 77-5804 works as well, but that still has the pocket.

What is this time correction I keep hearing about. I don't know if my Alpine has it. Mine has a mode called BBE but I don't know if that incorperates time correction.

Well the box finally arrived from crutchfield and when I opened it what do I find? The damn mounting adapter kit that I told the guy 3 times I already had. No wiring harness. That guy must have been on crack to screw that order up.
To make a long rant short, I called them back to tell them I had received the wrong part and they needed to send me the correct harness. The guy told me that the harness would be $49.95! F'k that. I'll just wait till spring and install my entire system with my own amps and speakers once the snow melts. What a waste of time!

Wow thats really strange. Crutchfield has killer customer service. I am sure they will straighten it out.
Have you pulled the oem receiver out and looked at the connections? Im curious if they are the same is mine. Also see if your oem receiver has heat sinks on the sides. This may indicate the receiver powers the speakers with just one amp powering the sub, which is the same setup as mine.

Installed it and it works perfectly. It really brings the OEM little sub to life!
Metra 70-5517 is the number.
I think its only for 99-01 Expy's though. My stock radio had the heat sinks on the radio, so I figure only the sub was ampd. Anyhow, works great!
