My speaker grills have "Mach" listed on them and it has a Sub woofer in the back on the pass. side of the cargo area.

Mine is a 2000 EB Expy

I read that 98 and up had the Mach setup, where as 97 had the JBL setup.

If you have a subwoofer in the rear passenger cargo area, next to the jack you have the Mach.

FWIW, I used the Metra dash kit 77-5802. I hate that damn little pocket but thats all I could find to work. It says 77-5804 works as well, but that still has the pocket.

Did you install an aftermarket head unit? If so, what dash kit did you use?

I have posted a few questions and yours was the first thing that answered some of them.

My budget is not as big as yours.
I am thinking about an Alpine HE.

What is this time correction I keep hearing about. I don't know if my Alpine has it. Mine has a mode called BBE but I don't know if that incorperates time correction.

This is the option list I found online for my cd player. It doesn't list anything about time correction. Will this mean I can't use it with the Mach system in my truck?

No you don't need it. It just makes the sound better. It posistions the sound so that the imaging is in front of you. As opposed to the stock system sounding like the sound comes from the front left speaker.

Well the box finally arrived from crutchfield and when I opened it what do I find? The damn mounting adapter kit that I told the guy 3 times I already had. No wiring harness. That guy must have been on crack to screw that order up.
To make a long rant short, I called them back to tell them I had received the wrong part and they needed to send me the correct harness. The guy told me that the harness would be $49.95! F'k that. I'll just wait till spring and install my entire system with my own amps and speakers once the snow melts. What a waste of time!

Wow thats really strange. Crutchfield has killer customer service. I am sure they will straighten it out.

Have you pulled the oem receiver out and looked at the connections? Im curious if they are the same is mine. Also see if your oem receiver has heat sinks on the sides. This may indicate the receiver powers the speakers with just one amp powering the sub, which is the same setup as mine.

They are going to refund my money, but the wasted time is worth more than the 20 bucks to me. I did pull my stock deck out to look at the connections. It has a rectangle shaped plug on the top left corner and a long thing plug in the middle. I still have the harness from my 03 Lightning on the deck I intend to use and I pulled the expy deck to verify it wouldn't work prior to trying to order a new harness. As for the heat sink on the sides I don't exactly know what that means.

Installed it and it works perfectly. It really brings the OEM little sub to life!

Metra 70-5517 is the number.

I think its only for 99-01 Expy's though. My stock radio had the heat sinks on the radio, so I figure only the sub was ampd. Anyhow, works great!
On the RCA cable, i see the red plug, thats ok, but what are the gray and black wires for coming from that harness... where do they go? thanks MATT

The black goes to the GROUND on the other harness. And the gray goes to the REMOTE or AMP REMOTE on the new receiver harness.

I had to call on that too, was a little unlclear.
