From F-150 to SUV (maybe)

I have a '99 F-150 XL with a 6.5' box. I'm sorta kinda considering a Ford SUV for my next vehicle. I'd like one that has the same cargo space (with the back seats folded down, if necessary). Size-wise, which Ford SUV is most comparable to the F-150 I have now?

Thanks!

I think that with the Expedition's seats folded down in the back, you can put in around 7' when laying it straight in. I can measure tomorrow if you like.

Thanks! And if you could measure vertical clearance too, that would help. Need to make sure dog crates would fit back there.

Well, I measured my 2000, and it is about 6 1/2' from front to back on the floor with the seats folded down. I would guess that it is a couple of inches shorter when measured across the ceiling, due to the sloping of the rear window.

Entry height is about an inch short of 3', but it gets a couple of inches taller once you get through the rear hatch opening.

Width between the wheel wells is just over 4'. If you get an Expy with rear heat & AC like mine, then the driver's side wheelwell will be a solid tall panel (as opposed to the wheel well "hump").

Hope this helps.

Thanks for checking that. Sounds like it might work for me...
