Talked to Westers Garage, Superchips and Hypertech. Westers and Superchips are claiming they will have one but not for a number of months, like maybe winter of 2005/2006.

Hypertech has a system but it does not address torque management or the electronic throttle body.

I really dislike the way the Expy lays down on full throttle up to about 3000rpm and then takes off. I can feel the computer adjusting the butterfly on the TB.

Are there any other options???

 

The Expys don't have a drive-by-wire tb. The tb is directly connected to the pedal under your right foot. What you are feeling is the torque converter locking up.

 

I believe the 05's with the new 3valve 5.4 do use drive by wire throttles.

 

I stand (maybe) corrected. I was using our '04 as reference, but we have the 32 valve version.

 

Yep, all 05 and newer expy/navi have the 3 valve 5.4 with an electronic throttle. The only thing that kinda sucks is that the navi doesn't have the "unique" engine anymore.

 

I agree, but at least the Navi's have the unique transmission. I would sure like it with our 32valve. Seems to me like it would be a good match.
