1998 Navigator with bad studdering engine during acceleration

I have a 1998 Navigator. I have under acceleration the engine studders sometimes. I do not have a check engine light. I thought it was dirty injectors so I put some fuel injector cleaner, but it didn't go away. What else should I look at. EGR valve maybe? Please help. Thanks.

It's difficult to say without looking at it myself. A good place to start, especially if you've got some miles on it, would be to inspect and clean the EGR ports. Search and you'll find lots of explanations on the how and why. Basic check ups to make sure everything else is in good order would be advised too; fresh fluids and filters (air and fuel), new plugs if they've got some miles on them too, PCV valve/tube, etc.

My Screw developed a bad shudder last week. I thought it was the tranny or torque converter. Took it to the dealership yesterday and it was two bad coil packs.

I was reading on cleaning the EGR ports. I'm going to take my TB out and clean the hell out of it. On the way to work today it ran fine, no shaking or nothing. So now I'm thinking it could be dirty ports. Thanks so far. I will keep you guys posted.

Does anyone have a write up for removing the TB on a 5.4 in a navigator. I want to remove my throtle body to clean the EGR ports. The write up I found is for a 4.6. Is there much of a difference? Thanks
