I am wondering what a good exhaust would be for a 99 expy, i have looked into a couple but damn there high, does anybody have any suggestions.

You could just have a flowmaster 40 series welded in place of your stock muffler, and that would definately turn up the volume. Flowmaster sells a catback for about $350 + shipping, which is much less than the favored competitor on here

 

i also recomend the flowmaster, had it on just about all my vehicles and it has been great over the years, i think the only one i didnt have it on was my RX7 with the wenkel rotary engine, good luck

 

We had true duals and glasspacks on our '97 w/4.6L. Was definitely loud and only cost about $150.

 

If you want cheap and loud, just cut off the muffler and replace it with a straight peice of pipe.
