Gotta Move Again...

Well I still have my 98 EB, though I've only put about a thousand miles on it since last winter. Anyway, I have to move again next spring, from Cleveland to New Hampshire. Was looking forward to getting to somewhere a little warmer, but uncle sam doesn't really care what I want so I have to go even further north than I already am. I'm seriously considering putting a snow plow on my EB. I remember someone on this board having a EB about the same year as mine with a plow rig installed, but I've been searching for over an hour and can't find the thread. Anyone have experience with using their Expy as a plow rig?

Found the THREAD I was looking for, but would still like to know if anyone else is using the Expy to plow and their impressions/experience.

Your pretty much my neighbor! From North ridgeville here!

about your snow plow, I've seen explorers have snow plows on them (even saw one today) if the Explorers can push snow around, I'm sure your bigger heavier truck would do just fine, but I'm only guessing though?

Howdy Neighbor! I live right off rt 83 in Avon. We are close indeed. I still haven't seen any explorers with plows, but plenty of light duty trucks have them. I can't imagine why the expy wouldn't handle the job. I finally got in touch with Chris who owns the rig pictured below. His plow works great and he has had minimal problems with his truck. My wife works for a dealer in Elyria who is getting my plow at cost so I should have the installation complete in about 2 weeks when the parts get here.

I live just about a mile east of 83 off CenterRidge Rd! Probably pass your place every day to go to the Duncan Doughnuts off 83 in Avon!

Glad to hear about getting your plow! It will come in handy i'm sure! You'll come to my house when it snows hard and make a couple swipes in the driveway with your truck right?

I'm about 100 yds west of the kinzel rd stop light which is two lights before detroit rd. Yea I'll come by and clear a path. :santa: From what I hear I'll need some practice with this thing once it is installed. I've never plowed before so I was thinking about hitting places like fifth third bank up at detroit and 83 on a weekend or some other place that they wouldn't clear until monday morning. Hopefully we'll get a good coating that weekend.

Well so much for moving to Boston. I got word last week that we are going to Virginia Beach instead. No complaints here. I'm sick of snow anyway. Hope the old Expy can pull a u-haul trailer through the mountains. Last time I moved I had a hell of a lot more HP to pull the trailer with. I haven't had the chance to pull anything really heavy with the Expy yet.

I guess that all depens on what 'really heavy' adds up to. I didn't have a problem pulling a trailer with my 2000 Expy but I wasn't hauling through the mountains. Also, I had the 5.4 in the Expy with a tow package, if that makes a difference? Good luck and at least now you will not be needing the plow on the Expy. Which I have only seen once in person.
