I'm buying a 2006 Expedition and it has the navigation radio in it.....
Is this radio capable of using the sirius satellite radio without the external
FM modualtion? Wanted to see if the dealer could add it directly to the existing nav. radio.....

Yes, in short, it is available. There are two different harnesses, one with and one without navigation. I remember them asking me when I bought mine. (I bought the unit from the supplier, Ford doesn't make the unit, they buy it from an outside source) I bought the unit wholesale for $250 and installed it myself, not really hard but it saved me the extra $200 it was at the time for the dealer to do it.

 

Can anybody expound on this? I bought an '06 Expy EB with the nav and DVD a couple of days ago and would like to add sat to it w/o FM modulation. I don't think blitzsafe and PIE offer adapters w/o disconnecting the cd changer or the DVD.

 

Okie dokie then. I take it from the overwellming response that everyone is as clueless as I. I checked with PIE and they will be releasing an adapter in a few weeks that will work for this application. P/N is X3-FRD/P2
