Question Tubular running boards or nerf bar manufacturer

I recently traded in my 04 Screw for 05 Expy EB. I hated to give up my truck but the family just keeps getting bigger. I got such a great deal it was hard to pass up. Anyway that is a different topic. What I would like to do is replace the running boards with the tubular running boards I have seen on the King Ranch Expy. I can't seem to find any on the net. Who is the manufacturer? Or will I have to get them from Ford. I wonder are they the same ones on the XLT sport? The King Ranch ones are Pueblo Gold. However, I was thinking of going with black instead. Any ideas of where I could get them?

To get the OEM design, you'll probably have to go through Ford. If any brand of nerf bar is OK, then I got a ton of hits by searching google for "2005 expedition nerf bar".

I have also found many nerf bars, on the net, but none look like the one on the K.R. I was hoping it was made by someone else. I have a feeling I will be paying way to much if I get it through Ford. Anyone know of Ford website that I could get them from. I have found several, supposedly Ford sites, but none have the tubular running boards for the Expedition.

Any thoughts on going with black instead of the Pueblo Gold.

I've been talking about doing this for almost 2 years on my 04 now... I've already scratched up the running board on one side from a rock... Anyway, please post when you find something out. I am very interested in this one...

JSCOTT,
I was able to make a quick fly-by of a Ford dealer this evening. Being that I had very little time, I wasn't able to get all the details. The tubular running boards definately appear to be Ford OEM. I am going to try and call the dealer tommorrow to see about prices and more specifics. I did a search under F150 and found some that appear to be the same. They are around $350. I wonder if they are universal fit. However, they did not have the Expy as an option to fill in to order. Will let you know.

If you are wanting bars like the ones in THIS PIC, see if they can find the part number for a 2004 Expedition NBX.

Sorry about not having a full shot of the bars, I was actually taking a pic of the F150 rims I put on our Expy. The bars just happen to be in the shot.

nomo,
Thanks for the picture. I believe that is exactly what I am looking at. I called the aftermarket guy at the dealer. He wants about $400 for the pair. However, I think I really would rather have the Pueblo Gold ones that come on the K.R. Well, apparently, there is real gold in them, because they want $1300 for those. He mentioned them being an exculsive K.R. part. I think I may post some wanted adds and check Ebay every once in awhile to see if I can find them on my own.

Junk Yard

I would call around to see if other dealers or body shops will get you a better price.

You might also want to see if the larger junk yards have any. It might be a little early but worth a shot.
