Lifting the Expedition

I would like to hear from anyone who has lifted their expedition. Either through suspension or body lifts. What are your impressions? Any driveline
vibration from lifting? It seems there are fairly limited options for these units
and not a lot of information on the kits. I don't have computer controlled suspension, but I do have AWD. These two factors seem to play into which kits you can use. Any insight would be appreciated. I want to run bigger tires to get better ground clearance for offroading. Thanks.

I installed a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift on a friends Expy. No issues with altered ride or vibration.

Theres not a lot of limitation as you what is available, but there is a limitation as to how much of their wallet most are willing to part with. I have a friend that runs an offroad shop, and they have gone as far as to have customers get them to buy two kits for trucks where they don't have a kit for the desired height and ride quality, put them together to form one kit in the end. I have seen an epedition lifted high enough for 38's here where I live. If I see it again I'll shoot a picture.

i have lifted one expi eddie b, it was AWD but it had the air suspension we had to use two kits the front we used RCD and fabteck springs and mounts in the back, but that was becuase the air suspension, we got some vibration in the front so we put in a double cardian driveshaft and that took care of most of it he still gets just a tad of vibration, a body lift would be alittle harder than the truck just because the body bolts are alittle harder to get to but it shouldnt be that bad, i will be doing a body lift to the same expedition next month, i will let you know how it goes his is a 99 also here is a pic

Thanks for the posts people. I was considering just putting some spacers under
the coils for a bit of lift. Anyway, not sure how much you can go without getting into driveline issues on these. I have lifted a lot of jeeps and their limit is 3" without getting into driveline alterations. Even a 3" suspension lift needed a transfer case drop due to the limitations of the stock slip yoke style, rear shaft.

On this Expy I won't be doing any rock crawling or anything, I just want to run some
33's on the sucker for some extra clearance and appearance for light offroading.

Talking

I did a 4" suspen + a 3 inch body on my last wrangler, which in turn called for a woody shaft! (tom woods driveshaft for those who don't know about woodys)

jeeps tend to have driveshaft problems because of the shortness of the shaft any lifting changes the angles to the pinion more drasticly with a shorter shaft, you can get away with alot more lift on longer wheelbase trucks and suvs because of the length of the driveshafts, if you get any vibration at all in your expy it would be from the AWD, good luck

Any luck yet??

Cal777-
I'm thinking of getting an Expy as well, are there already spacer kits available for these? Is there a body lift available for the 2005+ Expys? Any help is greatly appreciated.
