You took the threaded nipple off with the filter.
See if you can't get it to thread back in until it seats.
then take a rag and wrap it around the nipple and GENTLY tighten it down. You do not want to buger the threads.
If it comes off again repeat the process and put just a dab of loc tite on the threads when you start.
Wipe off any excess (there shouldnt be) and let it dry before puttting on the filter.
If you use to much well the filter is going to be a challenge to say the least next time.

This is true, I know that, but he's 16 and knows "EVERYTHING" about trucks,cars, etc. In my book he's still learning the difference between a flathead and a phillips and would try to use either. Before I lift it up to fix it I was just wondering if anyone else had the same thing happen and what they did. I need to use my new Christmas gift (lift) anyway. Thanks for the reply.
