Better MPG?

Just purchased a 2004 Expedition with 5.4L. Getting about 14.8 mpg mixed regular, 15.8 mixed Granny style driving. Anybody getting better mpg? If so, how? Also, how can I tell if I have the 2 valve or 3 valve 5.4?

Love the MPG? You have a 3 valve engine.

The 3 valve engines did not come out in the '04 Expi, only the f-150's.You have a 2 valve engine.
My around town normal driving is in the 15.6 mpg range, over the road is much better. I'm gonna go with the K&N FIPK kit soon and should see better numbers.

Cannot PM yet (newer member) so I'll just reply here. Thanks for the offer, but I'm still debating if this is the "right" kit to go with or not. Also I have access to wholesale prices so will just buy a new one anyway. Thanks though.
