Question Paging GPS Owners: Which Model are you using?

Are you happy with the model that you have?

Is there anything that you don't like about it?

All information appreciated.

Brandmotion F-150 Magellan integrated Nav system. It gets me where I want to go.Not a lot of bells & whistles like some of the HU replacement units.

I also seek interest in one so I know my way around when I go to school. Its going to be a long trip, Indiana to Connecticut, and back a few times. Which model do you guys recommend? Something under $300, yet has a clear map to read.

Also- Do you pay a monthly service fee or how do those things work?

Tried tom tom...tom tom was a dumb dumb...Good machine but map base was ver poor. Got a Magellian (sp) pretty good but poor graphics. (imo) I now have 3 garmins and am very satisfied. Used a company called Tiger GPS. If you don't like it, they will take it back!

There is no subscription, you just have to pay every few years to update the base maps software with updated roads and what not. The traffic minder service I think there is a fee for, but you really dont' need that realistically. If you turn off route it automatically reroutes you the most efficiant way

i had the oem navigation in my expy. it was nice, but now that i upgraded to the eclipse 5510, i can see how subpar the quality is....and that is just the nav area, not taking into account the radio.

Garmin Nuvi 350. The Nuvi line from Garmin is consistantly the best reviewed (critics and users) portable GPS system. The size of a deck of cards, loaded with features, dead-on reliable & better GPS than previous factory units.

Size Example:

In Expy (please note antenna is in wrong position, I now position it horizontal):
