Thinking about buying an Expedition
Hey guys, Just found out wife is pregnant again. That makes three kids, I need a bigger car with three rows. I currently have a 95 Blazer as the family beater. The Blazer keeps the F-150 clean.
Anyway I like the F-150 so much that I thought the Expedition would also be nice. I have only $ 7,000.00 to spend. Is there a model year I should avoid? Is there much difference in MPG between the 4.6 and the 5.4?
Thanks in advance for your replies

Same here....I got rid of my truck for the same reason. Shoulda got myself a supercrew....Oh well. I bought a 2000 Eddie Bauer with around 68,000 or so for just over 10,000 Out the door.
I have only had the manifold stud breakage issue.
Look for a good one...have your mechanic lookit over. And remember...most guys post here with problems. A lot of owners out there havent had an issue with them.
I average about 14-15 with mixed driving with the 5.4.
BTW...Congratulations.....you have a few months more to save if you need to. Good luck.

There seems to be more problems with the later models. In any case, I had a nice 2000 EB that ran great. Beat the crap out of it and it never flinched. I would NOT get one with air suspension. These seems to go out all the time. Also, if it has a ton of miles, make sure the tranny was rebuilt or replaced as they are good for about 100-150K miles in my experience.
