Cool Airaid installed

Just installed the Airaid intake system into my Expy yesterday. It took about 90 minutes, and it was a very straightforward installation. The directions are quite clear, but, the accompanying pictures aren't of much help.
In a nutshell, you have to transfer two sensors and two hoses from the original intake to the Airaid. It has a very sturdy support system and looks great.

To date, I've only put about 50 miles on it. You can definitely hear it when you stomp on it off the line!

Any questions, please let me know. I'd be happy to help.

Question

What was the biggest "difference maker"...the Superchip or the Airaid filter assembly?

Wes Tarbox-
The Superchip was DEFINITELY the bigger "difference maker". It provided a big improvement in my transmission, and excellent power gains through the entire RPM range. With the Airaid, I do notce even a bit more kick when I hit the pedal.

I've ordered a Jardine cat-back system ($225 for Jardine) last week. The consensus here on this website is the three mods together provide a substantial difference in your truck's performance. With 2 out of 3 already on, I concur with that already!

Jmartinb, Let us know what you think about the Jardine. I looked up the size of the muffler and it looks pretty small. So keep in touch.

Also, the muffler was the last of the mods I put on and there was another big power improvement. See Magnaflow Muffler thread.

I purchased the Magnaflow cat-back after looking at the Flowmaster, Gibson, Dynomax, Jardine and the magnaflow. In the Expy, unlike the F-150, interior resonance is a big factor in the buying decision for me. The Magnaflow seemed the only ones i talked to tha actually addressed the interior noise level issue and still had great performance to boot. The Magnaflow uses a large muffler. If the muffler is smaller, sound will tend to be louder-it's that simple. The Dynomax, Flowmaster and Jardine all use a samller muffler than the Magnaflow. I stayed away from the Gibson because I did not like the sound on my 89 Bronco, plus it really made little improvement on it.

I am very happy with the sound, performance, fit, finish and the awesome-looking 4" OD, 24" long stainless steel resonated tip. For around $250, it was well worth it.
